Nick Catone is a retired welterweight and middleweight fighter.
He was most recently set to fight Tomasz Drwal. Instead, Catone was injured and replaced with Dave Branch after Branch's opponent on the same card, Aaron Simpson was injured as well. After recovering from his injury, Catone was next set to face Dan Miller. Miller was pulled out to face Nate Marquardt. He was replaced by Constantinos Philippou. Catone defeated Philippou via unanimous decision.
Catone was next set to face veteran Aaron Simpson. However, Catone was forced out of the bout after tearing an achilles tendon. He was replaced by Eric Schafer.
After recovering extensively, Catone signed to face TUF veteran Chris Camozzi. After a great fight, the doctor gave the victory to Camozzi, stopping the fight in the third round from a nasty cut on Catone's face from a Camozzi flying knee.
Catone next made his welterweight debut against Anthony Waldburger, being choked unconscious in the second round with a triangle choke.
Catone next signed to face James Head. Catone came in two or three pounds overweight but it seemed to be a foregone conclusion as he gave up twenty percent of his purse and went on his way. Unfortunately mere hours before the fights were set to commence the next day, Catone was hospitalized with dehydration. The fight with Head was thus cancelled.
After a long recovery period Catone went back up to middleweight to fight Tom Watson. He defeated Watson via a hard-fought split decision.
Catone was next set to fight Vitor Miranda for April 2015 but he was forced to retire less than a month before the fight because of nagging injuries.
