Kamal Shalorus is a lightweight fighter.
He most recently fought to a controversial draw with former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner. He next faced well-rounded Bart Palaszewski at the final WEC event, winning a very close split decision and heading into the UFC undefeated.
He next made his UFC debut against well-rounded contender Jim Miller. Miller handed him his first loss via third-round technical knockout.
After a tenth-month layoff due to being plagued by injuries, Shalorus next welcomed promising newcomer Khabib Nurmagomedov to the UFC. Nurmagomedov defeated Shalorus via third-round rear-naked choke submission.
Shalorus next signed to face veteran Rafael Dos Anjos in a loser-leaves-town matchup. Dos Anjos submitted Shalorus with a rear-naked choke submission in just over one minute. After the third straight loss, Shalorus was released from the UFC with an 0-3 record.
After a layoff of nearly a year, Shalorus next signed with the Asian One-FC promotion and he next made his debut against veteran Eduard Folayang. Shalorus predictably outwrestled Folayang en route to a unanimous decision victory.
He next fought Ariel Sexton defeating Sexton via unanimous decision.
Shalorus next signed to fight for the OneFC lightweight title against champion Shinya Aoki.
