The first round began. They circled sizing each other up. The crowd chanted 'Randy'. Four thirty-five. Liddell was probing with a jab and a left hook consistently. Four fifteen. Four minutes. Three thirty-five. Liddell narrowly missed with a right hand and a left hook. Couture narrowly missed a right hand himself. Three fifteen. Three minutes. Liddell missed a probing uppercut. The crowd chanted 'Randy.' Two thirty-five. Liddell grazed with a right hand. Two fifteen. Couture narrowly missed a right hand. Two minutes. Couture landed a good left hook himself. Liddell landed an inside leg kick. One thirty-five. Couture landed a hard straight right with one fifteen but ate a right hand himself. Liddell came after him. Liddell landed a right hand and a pair of short uppercuts. Couture shot forward for a single to half-guard. Liddell stood right back up with one minute. Couture had the body lock from behind. Thirty-five as Liddell landed a pair of body shots. Liddell defended a trip. They turned to the regular clinch. Someone was bloody. Liddell stuffed a double with fifteen. Someone was bleeding very badly there. Liddell kept stuffing that double. The first round ended. Couture had a cut over his left eye and his nose was bleeding slightly. Rogan speculated that Couture's nose might be broken. The second round began. The crowd chanted 'Chuck'. Couture landed a good right hand. Four thirty-five remaining. Couture landed a good left jab. Liddell landed a good right hand. Four fifteen. Four minutes remaining. Couture missed a counter right narrowly. Couture's mouth was open. Couture ate a counter left and dropped. Liddell landed four or five shots downward and the ref stopped it.
